Beauty to me is believing in and loving who you are!!

What is a day in the life of @menacemakeup?

Well my days start with taking care of my children.  Once I have them squared away I start working…I’m an early riser

How did you career begin in the world of beauty?

My career started as a child.  I’ve always had a passion and love for hair styling and makeup.  I would sit home all day playing with my dolls, or doing my friends hair.

Which celebrity would you love to do makeup for?

I would love to be able to work with Erica Dixon of Love and Hip Hop….her bone structure is amazing.  Next would be Keyshia Ka’oir, the creator of the “Colored Lipsticks” her facial features are beautiful…the perfect canvas for an artist.

How would you describe your signature look?

My signature look usually is a nude eye, or smokey eye with a colorful lip.

What is your most memorable moment while doing someone’s makeup?

My most memorable moments are when I’m finished with a client and the tears start to fall, it feels good to know that I aided in that confidence.

What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to women?

I think the most important advice I would give to a woman is that it starts on the inside.  Keep a pure heart and it will radiate to the outside.

What are some common beauty mistakes women make?

Well I don’t consider myself an industry leader when it comes to makeup mishaps, but I see a lot of eyebrow related mishaps.  A lot of solid squared looks.  I like a more natural, feathered brow.

Do you feel that looking and feeling beautiful is important in regard to a woman’s confidence?

Of course it is…when you look good you feel good.

Have you achieved all of your goals? If not what are they?

No I haven’t…my career goal is to become a Platform Artist.

Who has inspired you throughout your career?

My initial inspiration came from Youtube guru Destiny Godley.  Her makeup looks for women of color inspired me to jump out there and not be afraid to wear colorful looks because I love colors!!

Do you see yourself one day creating your own line of makeup?

Yes!  One day very soon.

What are some of your favorite products?

My favorite products are…… NYX

Maybelline

Revlon

BH Cosmetics

Black Opal

Milani Cosmetics.

 Favorite concealer?

My favorite concealor is the L.A. Girl Pro Concealor.

2248

What should be a staple in every woman’s purse?

Mascara and lipgloss.

Do you believe that less is more?

Sometimes…depends on the occassion.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in getting into the beauty industry?

Always continue your education..never stop learning!

How do you cleanse your skin?

I use the Ambi Skincare line for my oily skin.

Bullying on Instagram is something that happens all the time. How do you handle any negative comments?

I usually ignore all negativity!  It is not allowed in my space.

What is beauty to you?

Beauty to me is believing in and loving who you are!!
