The new butter London Patent Shine Nail Lacquers are full of ingredients to promote healthy, brighter, and stronger nails. They come in an array of gorgeous colors and have a beautiful creamy finish.
They have a patented Shock Resistant Polymer Technology that delivers shine and chip resistance for up to 10 days. Now because they are full of great nail care benefits in theory you can wear then without a base coat, I however tried and tested using Orly’s Bonder base coat.
I first tested out the very beautiful nude shade ‘Shop Girl’ I applied my base coat, two coats of color and then finished with Orly’s In A Snap top coat. For a nude the color was relatively opaque, I think if you were in a huge rush you could get away with one coat. The polish applied nicely and wasn’t streaky or too thick in consistency. Each coat dried pretty quickly making it easy to apply the next. The finished product was very nice shiny nails; the big test was how long they would last. I had 7 days of shiny nails with minimal wearing before I got my first large chip, in my opinion this is pretty great for a manicure done at home. The shininess stayed put and didn’t dull at all as the days went on. Now I don’t do much with my hands other than type a lot, so if you have a more active lifestyle they may not last as long.
Yesterday I removed the nude color and applied the classic red ‘Her Majesty’s Red’, I am usually not a big red nail polish fan as I find they make me look a little washed out but this color has a nice warm tone to it that makes it a little more wearable. I used the same base and top coat as before, I found that this color was a little sheerer than the nude but two coats still did it. I would say this color may be even shinier than the nude, bonus! It has only been 24h in this color but they are going strong and I am expecting another week of great nails.
One thing I love about these polishes, well all Butter London polishes is the bottle. They have a really pretty squared design but you can actually remove the silver cap to paint with the smaller handle inside. This makes it super easy to get the control you need, the other plus is that the brush is nice and wide so you can be done with a nail in three strokes. They are on the slightly more luxurious price side coming in at $18 but they are totally worth it for the great wear time. They also come in 14 shades ranging from pink, to red, to blue. Next time you are in need for a new polish make sure it is one of these!
