I have always been a fan of full lips they are capable of turning a cutesy pink gloss into a bombshell’s best friend on date night.
Typically you would apply cinnamon or an irritant-infused gloss to your lips, wait for a tingly sensation and then cue the bee-stung lips. While you certainly could go that route, an easy trick will give you the same effect, and you can use this tip for any color of lipstick or gloss.
You Will Need:
A highlighting product such as Watts Up by Benefit Cosmetics ($30, at Sephora.com).
A lip gloss (or lipstick, stain/balm) such as NARS Lip Gloss ($26, Nordstrom).
Apply the highlight to your index finger. You only need a bit as a little goes a long way with products like these
Apply the highlighter directly onto your cupid’s bow (the indent on your upper lip) and gently blend in with your finger.
Apply a lipstick or gloss over moisturized lips. I am using the NARS Lip Gloss ($26, Nordstrom). on my lips for a soft, sheer hit of pink.
The final result is a pretty and full pout that goes great with flirty lashes and a clean foundation. The highlighter gives a hint of light above the upper lip that offers the illusion of more lip real estate. No crazy food-based lip plumpers necessary! I always highlight my cupid’s bow when I do my make-up because I just love the effect.
