This pretty much sums up my entire thoughts about the Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish.
And, this is coming from someone whose idea of body scrubbing is an exfoliating (read: harsh) loofah and a good smelling drugstore body wash.
This is the first ever body scrub/polish that I have ever used, except for DIY ones, and I am pretty much blown away!
($15, at Drugstore.com)
A superhero strength skin smoothing body polish with shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar. Transforms your scaly legs from reptilian to radiant. Scented with our Original Pink™ fragrance.
What I Think:
As soon as you open the Flake Away tub, you are hit by the most gorgeous, absolutely delicious, heavenly, scrumptious smell ever! And, the best part? It lingers on for hours after you wash it off!
The product itself is a pale brown color with lots of gritty scrubbing grains in it, which dissolve as you massage the product in.
In pictures, they show you the product as a thick scrub but I found the scrub quite fluid. It might be just because the city where I live is quite hot and humid and most of my thick products turn runny.
Nonetheless, the product still works like a charm! I take a handful of Flake Away and massage it over my body, especially the legs.
While the instructions ask you to apply it on damp skin, I apply it directly on dry skin, since the product has gone a bit runny for me anyways. As I massage Flake Away in, I gradually add droplets of water to my hands to make the product more smooth and make massaging it in easier.
Washing it off is pretty easy too since it doesn’t leaves any residue and does a pretty good job of getting rid of those rough, dead skin cells.
Result? Extremely smooth, radiant, good-smelling skin in just a few minutes!
Soap and Glory recommends you to moisturize your legs/body after you use Flake Away but personally, I didn’t feel the need for it.
This is one beauty product that has lived up to its claims in the most beautiful and again, heavenly smelling way possible!
My only gripe with Flake Away is that its grains keep getting in the way of closing the tub; but nothing that a quick wipe can’t fix.
If you are not high maintenance or even have the time to body scrub, just give Flake Away a try for the smell! Trust me, the spa-like experience at drugstore prices with Flake Away would make you a fan instantly!
