The Best Makeup for Acne-Prone SkinAs a long-time sufferer of different waves and levels of acne, I’ve spent a good deal of time searching for makeup that won’t irritate my sensitive skin. Luckily for all of us, I found some winners that are either exciting new discoveries or have been by my side through it all:

Try Me!

1. For liquid foundation lovers: This isn’t the last time you’ll hear me say this, but keep it natural. More naturally derived makeup means less harsh chemicals to affect your skin. That’s why if I need a liquid base, like for a show I’m in or getting head shots taken, I’d use Physician’s Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear Makeup Liquid Foundation ($10.99, Drugstore). It’s super gentle and provides excellent coverage without being greasy and comes off easily with makeup wipes. Plus it’s got a sponge-tip built right in to the bottle!

  • Rashmi & Chalukya

I dont wear makeup at all except for some couple of family functions for fear of chemicals in products. May need to check this product. Thanks for sharing.

  • Amazing post! I have lately a lot of acne problems and I am 27!!!! So this helped!

  • kmaryam

My skin has been breaking out a few times this month and when it does, I just don’t wear makeup. I let my skin breathe. As you said the less chemicals the better but I love this neutrogena concealer ! It’s by far my favorite

Thanks for the post. I think all make up should have something in it to prevent acne, and just be helpful. Acne and anti aging products are very popular now, and it would be amazing if somehow, some way it would be included in a product together. Great post.

There is so many things in make up that actually can cause acne! These seem to be good products! I will have to look into them!

I think all makeup should be made to prevent acne just so that the makeup goes on smoothly. I love mineral wear makeup!

I never really suffered from acne, that’s until I got in my twenties. I don’t wear makeup at all, but I do use fascia masks sometimes.

I don’t wear make up anymore, not that I ever wore very much to begin with. I do like a nice facial mask. The mint julep masque sounds quite refreshing!

  • I have never used any of these products before. I also have problem skin so I feel you pain, maybe I will try some of these.

  • kage

It’s alright for guys to wear makeup now, right! Cause I need number 5!

  • These are some really nice recommendations. I may have to see if my daughter would want to try any of them!

  • They all seem so great! I am tempted to try most of them. My skin is sensitive and very fair, so those products would fit me very well. Thank you for sharing!

  • I hear that Bare Minerals is excellent and I have been meaning to try their powders for a while. Especially since my skin is so sensitive!

This one’s a perfect gift idea for Mother’s Day!

I still suffer with my skin wayyy into my twenties. I need a full coverage liquid so number one is the one for me :)

Spot treatments, oil-free products andmineral makeup are what I consider the best for acne prone skin. Wish I had knew about this brands and items when I had that problem.

  • That’s great! Can it be used underneath makeup, or is it a night treatment?
